On the back of undertaking the Collaroy Rock Pool repair works TCM Construction Group were contracted by Northern Beaches Council to undertake the repair and encasement of the stormwater pipe in the Southern corner of Manly beach at South Steyne. Carried out at the back end of summer the team coordinated works with the general public in what is one of Sydney’s busiest stretches of beach. Access was maintained for life guard services staff, public access to the beach as well as the busy Marine Pde which forms part of the Manly to Shelly Beach walk.
Works included the removal of beach sand from the works are and forming a sand bag barrier to assist keeping the tide at bay. Repair works to the stormwater pipe were undertaken including a new access chamber and inspection hatch, Forming of coloured concrete encasement and concrete bleachers creating a lovely place for the public to sit and take in the sunshine of beautiful Manly Beach.
