The building is situated between the two sets of playing fields, with the rugby field to the south and the baseball fields to the north. The central breezeway allows the building to open up on both sides to create a flowing environment for both club members and spectators.
The Amenities Building consists of two change rooms, toilet facilities, sport club storage, a canteen and a community club room. The building also includes solar power panels and a solar hot water system, along with 3 x 5000 litre rainwater tanks which harvest the water that supplies the toilets.
The site through up many challenges given its history as an old landfill site so the building is constructed on a raft slab that essentially “floats” above a system of gas drains embedded under the slab to allow residue gas from the landfill site to escape from under the structure.
Being local contractors on the Northern beaches we are extremely proud to be able to provide this wonderful asset for the not only the sport clubs but all community members to enjoy.
